Laundry Stain Remover
Conventional stain removers often contain toxic ingredients like bleach that are irritating to eyes, skin, and the respiratory system. Branch Basics effectively removes stains and uses only non-toxic ingredients.
Oxygen boost intensifies cleaning, and when combined with All Purpose Spray, the mixture works magic on stains.
Effective
Branch Basics laundry stain treatment removes all types of stains including car grease, finger paint, food, and more. While tough on stains, Branch Basics is gentle on fabric and does not damage texture or color.
Car grease stain before, during, and after stain treatment using Branch Basics.
How To
Some stains will simply require spraying Branch Basics All Purpose spray to remover it completely. Try this first before moving on to the following stain remover protocol:
Sprinkle with oxygen boost
Spray All Purpose
Rub fabric together so that the oxygen boost and All Purpose mix or brush with the Branch Basics wooden brush until the mixture foams.
Wash on regular cycle.
Repeat this process if any stain remains. OR
Soak garment in water with several tablespoons of Concentrate plus one scoop of Oxygen Boost overnight, then wash.
Safety
Conventional stain removers can contain harsh and even toxic ingredients. Bleach (sodium hypochlorite) is often a go to product for stains, but it is not only irritating to the eyes and skin upon touch, but also irritates the respiratory system when inhaled. [1]
Branch Basics oxygen boost contains just two safe and effective ingredients: sodium carbonate peroxide and sodium bicarbonate. Both of these ingredients are given a safety rating of “A” by the Environmental Working Group (EWG).
Toxic ingredients commonly found in laundry stain removers include the following:
Fragrance - a mix of fragrance and chemicals associated with allergies, dermatitis, respiratory distress and potential effects on the reproductive system. Companies are not required to disclose the ingredients in fragrance, and research has found them to contain unnamed toxic ingredients like phthalates. Phthalates are associated with developmental and reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, and cancer.[2][3][4][5]
Sodium Borate – associated with skin and eye damage, respiratory irritation, organ system toxicity and may damage fertility or the unborn child according to the European Chemicals Agency and GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, developed by the United Nations).
Methylisothiazolinone – allergenic preservative that is possibly neurotoxic based on lab studies on the brain cells of mammals. It is banned for use in cosmetics by the European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) and limited to .0015% of rinse off products. [6][7][8]
Ethoxylates - can contain the impurities 1,4-dioxane, and ethylene oxide which are associated with reproductive, developmental, and endocrine effects, cancer, and DNA damage.
