What's In Your Toothpaste

We now know our skin absorbs a great amount of what we put on it, and that certainly includes what we use inside our mouths. Toothpastes contain a long list of inactive ingredients that most of us have never heard of.

Phenoxyethanol

Phenoxyethanol is a preservative that is widely used in cosmetics and personal care products, especially products wanting to fit in the clean category. The problem is phenoxyethanol is made by a process called ethoxylation, and can leave behind toxic residual products, specifically 1,4-dioxane and ethylene oxide.
