Welcome.

I recommend natural beauty, baby, and cleaning products that are just as effective as toxic ones.

Nourishing Mascara

Nourishing Mascara

Fitglow Vegan Good Lash promotes growth, conditions and enhances lashes, safely in one product.

Why It’s Effective

Good Lash defines and lengthens lashes. Multiple coats builds mega volume.

In addition to lengthnening and volumizing, Good Lash treats lashes with vegetable collagen, horsetail plant, rice bran wax, and lupine protein to condition, strengthen and promote growth.

The unique graduated wand has a small pointed tip to reach small lashes in the corners of the eye, as well as wider mid section for longer lashes in the center

Good Lash lasts throughout the day without flaking off, and removes best with coconut oil

Does not cause irritation, itching, or redness.

Why It’s Safe

Many mascaras get their deep black pigment from unsafe ingredients like carbon black or D&C Black #2. Carbon black is color made from the incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons. It is toxic, possibly carcinogenic, and the FDA has even found carbon black unsafe for cosmetics used around the eyes.

D&C Black #2 is carbon black that has conformed to certain FDA standards, such as limitations on amounts of certain impurities like arsenic, lead, mercury, sulfur and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

However, according to the Environmental Working Group, D&C black #2 is also toxic, and there is evidence of cancer concerns according to the Proposition 65 List of Carcinogens from July 2004 and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

“Good Lash gets its color from iron oxides rather than carbon black or D&C Black #2.”

Good Lash gets its color from iron oxides rather than carbon black or D&C Black #2. In addition to being free from harmful black pigments, Good Lash contains none of the following toxic ingredients commonly found in mascara:

  • Triethanolamine - irritating to eyes, skin, respiratory tract and can be contaminated with nitrosamines, which are carcinogenic. Not allowed for use in Canadian cosmetics.[1][2]

  • Quaternium 15 – preservative that acts as a formaldehyde releaser, is an allergen and has concerns for organ system toxicity. Banned from cosmetics in the European Union.[3]

  • Imidazolidinyl urea - preservative that works by forming formaldehyde, which is a carcinogen and immune/respiratory/skin toxicant.[4]

  • Fragrance – mix of fragrance and chemicals associated with allergies, dermatitis, respiratory distress and potential effects on the reproductive system. Can contain unnamed toxic ingredients like phthalates which are associated with developmental and reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, and cancer.[5][6][7][8]

  • Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) - preservative that shows organ system toxicity in animal studies, with some carcinogenic. Animal studies also show skin, eye and respiratory effects. Associated with skin sensitization in humans.[9][10]

  • Propylene glycol - skin irritant associated with contact dermatitis.[11]

  • Parabens - antimicrobial preservatives that are immune and skin toxicants, mimic estrogen and disrupt the endocrine system, are toxic to the developmental and reproductive systems, interfere with gene expression, and are associated with cancer.[12]

  • Phenoxyethanol- skin, eye, or lung irritant.  In 2008, the FDA warned consumers not to use Mommy’s Bliss Nipple cream because it contained phenoxyethanol which was harmful to infants.  The statement indicated phenoxyethanol could “depress the central nervous system and may cause vomiting and diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration in infants.”  Phenoxyethanol remains a controversial ingredient and even “green” beauty products continue to use it as a preservative.[13]
